If you installed an earlier version of AFS, remove all the AFS components completely. To remove AFS and its components:

Then, follow the instructions in the order below:
1. From the desktop, double-click the file named afs141win.msi
2. If a security warning window appears, select "Run"

3. When the Setup window appears, click on "Next"
4. In the Choose Setup Type screen, choose Complete, then click Next.

5. On the Ready to Install page, click Install.
6. Installation may take several minutes to complete, please be patient while the process completes. When the Completing the OpenAFS for Windows Setup Wizard appears, simply click Finish to complete the installation.
7. The computer must be restarted before installation is complete. When prompted, click Yes to restart the computer.
1. After you log on to your computer, you will need to Obtain New AFS Tokens. In the system tray, click the AFS icon.

2. Once the AFS Client screen appears, click Obtain New Tokens.

3. Simply login by inputting your NetID in the User Name field and your NetID password in the Password field and click OK.
4. The next step is to set up the network drives so that you can browse to the locations via My Computer. Double click My Computer so that you see your local hard drives and folders. Click Tools and choose Map Network Drive.

5. After the Map Network Drive screen opens, click the drop down box to choose a Drive: To be consistent with the OIT Labs, we recommend you choose P:; however, any drive of your choice can be chosen. n the Folder: field, type
\\afs\acpub\users\(first letter of NetID)\(second letter of NetID)\NetID
Example: If your NetID is jed9, type
\\afs\acpub\users\j\e\jed9>
If the second letter of your NetID is a number, type other in place of second letter of NetID.
Example: If your NetID is a312, type
\\afs\acpub\users\a\other\a312

6. Click to select Reconnect at logon.
7. Click Finish.
