Secure Email Setup 

1. Open the Mail Program in OS X and a Welcome to Mail window will appear, select Continue.

2.  In the General Information window enter your name in the Full Name field and your NetID email address in the Email Address field. Select Continue.

3. In the Incoming Mail Server window, enter imap.duke.edu in the Incoming Mail Server field.  Enter your NetID in the User Name field and enter your NetID password in the Password field.  Select Continue.

4.  In the Incoming Mail Security window, place a check in the Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) box, and select Password from the Authentication pull down menu. Select Continue.

5.  In the Outgoing Mail Server window, enter smtp.duke.edu in the Outgoing Mail Server field.  Place a check in the User Authentication box and enter your NetID in the User Name field and enter your NetID password in the Password field.  Select Continue.

6. In the Outgoing Mail Security window, place a check in the Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) box, and select Password from the Authentication pull down menu. Select Continue.

7.  Select Create.
