What to try first: the five Rs

Apple recommends the following steps when troubleshooting problems with your iPod, in order of preference: Reset, Retry, Restart, Reinstall, Restore. Apple's Solving iPod issues page addresses these in more detail and includes a video demonstration.

How to get help at Duke

Duke faculty, staff and students may contact the OIT Help Desk for assistance with iPod problems. They can be reached at (919) 684-2200 or via their online help form. They will assist you or refer you to appropriate support staff or service.

How to get warranty service

If your iPod is having a problem that requires service from Apple, it is your responsibility to send it in for repair. If your iPod is no longer under warranty, you will also be responsible for the repair costs. To find out if your iPod is still under warranty or request service, enter the serial number of your iPod on the Apple service request form.
