Bob Johnson is Duke OIT’s Senior Director of Communications Infrastructure. In this role he is responsible for the operational oversight of voice, video and data communications efforts, physical infrastructure and desktop and device support.
Previously, Bob served as Dartmouth College’s Director of Network Services from 2002 through 2005. At Dartmouth, he led the effort to the first fully converged Voice/Video and Data offering as well as the implementation of one of the first 100 percent coverage Wi-Fi networks. Bob was also instrumental in the creation of a utilities/allocation model for communications that moved the campus away from legacy billing models.
Prior to joining Dartmouth, Bob worked at Global Crossing as data solution manager for the Northeast and Midwest. He previously served as Director of Network Service/Telecom at the University System of New Hampshire and as Telecommunications/Network manager for Hofstra University.
Bob has an A.A. in liberal arts from the State University of New York at Farmingdale and a B.A. in economics from SUNY Stony Brook.
