Chris Meyer is director of Application and Database Services in the Office of Information Technology, where he manages application development, systems integration, database administration and operational support for administrative computer systems at the university. He provides technical oversight for Student Information Services and Systems (SISS), the Blackboard Learning Management System, the Pinnacle Telemanagement System, Remedy and Oracle.
Before becoming director, Chris was the technical project manager for the PeopleSoft Student System. He has been at Duke since January 1994, when he joined the staff as a senior project manager and software engineer.
He has attended and presented at national conferences such as EDUCAUSE, Gartner, CUMREC, Oracle/PeopleSoft Higher Education Users Group and NADGUG.
Prior to joining Duke, he managed and developed operating and database systems at Data General Corp. in Research Triangle Park. Before Data General, Chris was a software engineer with GTE in Billerica, Mass.
Chris holds an M.S. in computer science from Old Dominion University and a B.S. in environmental science from the University of Virginia.
