Application Information

Applications for use of the cluster should be submitted to hpc-request@duke.edu and should consist of the following:

I. Scientific Project Description:

No more than 1 page explaining the research to be supported. Please include a timeline for the project that clearly states any associated critical dates for things like paper submission, grant submission, etc. Please note that at present, we request that interested groups provide or purchase a minimum of 8 machines in order gain access to the cluster. Graduate students will need sponsorship from a faculty member to gain access to the DSCR.

II. Technical Description:

No more that 2 pages addressing the following:

1) Computational methods to be used.

2) (Licensed?) Software requirements (e.g. do you need Matlab, PAUP, etc., or is your program home-grown?)

3) Computational/Parallel Performance: What kind of speed-up do you see on, say, 16 processors? 32?

4) CPU Time Requirements: How much CPU time do you think you'll need for this work?

5) Storage Requirements
