Color printing

Color laser printers are available for your use in Lilly Library and Bostock/Perkins Library.  The ePrint software installer adds an ePrint-color (fee) printer to your Windows or Mac system.

Download the ePrint client here

Use this special printer to send color documents to the color print queue.

Before you try to print in color, be sure you have money in your Flex account. Color copies cost 50 cents each.

Once the application has been downloaded:

  1. In a computer lab or from your personal computer, start by selecting the print option of the application that you are using.
  2. • For PCs, select the queue marked ePrint-Color (fee), which will not be selected by default. Enter your NetID in the popup dialog box.
    • For Macs, the regular print dialog box will appear with ePrint-OIT as default. Select ePrint-Color (fee) and continue.
  3. Your document will be sent to a special color queue which exists separately from the normal ePrint queue.
  4. Go to one of the color printers in the lobbies of Perkins or Lilly libraries.
  5. Swipe your DukeCard at the ePrint station. You will see your color print queue.
  6. Click on the document you wish to print.
  7. Click the Print button. Your DukeCard will be charged 50 cents per page once you click this button.

To get a refund for a botched print job, please bring the botched job to Office Products at 3540 Kangaroo Drive, Durham, NC 27705. They will contact the Duke Card Office to complete the refund.

Guidelines

Please abide by the following guidelines when using public OIT printers:

  • Do not use printers as copiers: if you need multiple copies of a document, photocopy it.
  • Recycle unwanted paper. There are recycling bins in all of the computer labs.
  • If the printer is out of paper, toner, etc., report the problem.
  • Send each print job only once.
