MPS Staff Profiles

Multimedia Specialist and Lab Manager

Michael Faber

Expertise:  Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, iMovie, Digital Photography

Michael FaberMichael is a 2005 Duke grad and a longtime patron and staff member of the Multimedia Project Studio. After working as a consultant for the MPS for two years as a student and producing a multitude of multimedia-related projects for his visual arts degree, Michael graduated with a B.S. in Math and no idea what to do with his life. So he spent the next year continuing to work as a Senior Consultant at the MPS and refine his design skills. In July 2006, he assumed the post as Multimedia Computing Specialist for OIT and took over control of the Multimedia Project Studio (among many other fun projects). He's got big plans for the lab, and is always looking for suggestions.

Multimedia Lab Consultants

Dan Romero - English, 2010

Expertise:   Web Design, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, iMovie

DanDan Romero likes Duke basketball, the Boston Red Sox and Macs. When he isn't reading some RSS feed, Dan can help you with a variety of multimedia-related tasks. From iMovie and Final Cut to Dreamweaver and Photoshop, he's got you covered. Like chocolate-cake-with-too-much-frosting-on-it covered. But in all seriousness, he is pretty good with everything the MPS Lab has to offer. And if we don't offer it, he can probably find you a Web 2.0 app that does just the trick. Really.

Adam Barron - Theatre Studies, MMS certificate, 2010

Expertise:   Final Cut Pro, iMovie, iDVD, Adobe Photoshop

Adam BarronAdam owes his technological knowledge to his beloved Super Nintendo, which showed him at an early age that technology is way more fun than actual activities.  He also owes his bad eye-sight to years of watching an endless amount of movies.  Consequently, the two passions came together freshman year at Duke when he directed the winning Froshlife '07 film, "Frosh Noir."  Since then he's been trying to figure out the intricacies of film-making software and the awesomeness of Macs.  Adam is also a Theatre Studies major with an MMS certificate.  He's not sure how that will matter in the "real world" but time will tell.

Andrew has taught himself all of Final Cut Studio and considers himself an expert at using all of the software therein (excluding Motion, which he plans to change).
