Virtual Computing Lab is a service that allows authenticated users to reserve a computer with specialized software and access it remotely over the internet.  Three application environments are available: Matlab R2009a (Windows XP), Matlab 2009a (Linux), and Microsoft Office 2007 (Windows XP), as well as course specific images for Nicholas School of the Environment and other schools.  Reservations can be made for up to eight hours through a web interface.  At the scheduled time, the image is loaded onto a virtual machine, which is accessible from the user's desktop via Remote Desktop Client.
