OIT Site-Licensed Software
Welcome to the OIT Software Licensing Web page. This is a resource offered through OIT for members of the Duke community to get volume and site-licensed software. This software is purchased in bulk and distributed for free or resold at a discount. Links to free and open-source software are also provided. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please e-mail the site-license office at site@duke.edu

- Microsoft products: Duke's recent agreement with Microsoft will soon make MS products available to all Duke affiliates. We will have full details in the middle of July, but if you are buying a computer before then, please keep these things in mind:
- The license for Vista is for upgrades, which means that you need to have a MS or Apple operating system on your computer. We suggest that you purchase the cheapest OS (the one included in price of the machine) and upgrade to Vista here at Duke.
- An upgrade to Windows 7 is included in the Duke agreement, so don't purchase the upgrade with your computer. Mac OS also qualifies as an upgradable OS, in case you want to run Windows on your Mac.
- MS Office is an OEM version, so you will not need a prior version of Office on your machine.
- The campus agreement covers Forefront security in addition to the existing McAfee site license, so we advise loading one of the two antivirus options available at Duke.
- SAS 9.2 - SAS 9.2 is now available on Windows (32 & 64-Bit), Linux(32 & 64-Bit), Windows Server (32 & 64-Bit), and Solaris 64-Bit
- McAfee Antispyware – An antispyware module for use within McAfee VirusScan is now available for download
- McAfee Virus Scan 8.7 (Duke Build) – The latest version of Virus Scan Enterprise for Windows is now available as a pre-configured silent installer.
- VMWare- VMWare downloads and licenses are now available under the VMWare Academic Program at Duke
- Mathematica 7.0.1 - The full version is now available as a download for all platforms.
- ArcGIS 9.3 - Now available as a download.
- Maple 13 - The latest version of Maple is now available for download.
- Partition Master - New Windows/Server partitioning tool available by download at no cost.
- ArchiCAD - Free educational use of CAD/Virtual Building software.
- JMP Genomics – New 4.0 version of the powerful statistical tool. Now based on SAS 9.2.
- NVivo8 - Qualitative research software available at a heavily discounted price.
