New! WebFiles

Duke OIT is pleased to announce WebFiles, a new online service  that makes it easy for you to store and manage important files. The service is available to university students, faculty, and staff. WebFiles is based on Duke's AFS service, a distributed network file system.

WebFiles provides you with the following features:

  • Web-based access to 5 GB of personal file space
  • Shared file space for collaborating with groups, including ready-made group space for your courses
  • Ability to control the access rights for directories and groups you own
  • Personal video streaming through DukeStream Personal
  • Personal Web space; see FAQ for details

Alternate access to Duke's AFS

You can access any files stored in AFS using WebFiles or by installing the appropriate AFS client on your personal computer. For information on installing and using AFS, click the appropriate links below.
