Elluminate Live! is a java-based webconferencing solution developed with education in mind.

paletteHow do I get access to Elluminate?

This solution is available hosted by Elluminate, Inc. makers of Elluminate Live!.  Accounts specify a number of concurrent users and allow unlimited meetings to occur simultaneously within that concurrent user limit.  Departments may also wish to license for unlimited use by their full-time equivalency (FTE) count.

If you'd like to try before purchasing, a free 3-person meeting room, known as a vRoom, is available at: http://www.elluminate.com/vroom/index.jsp.

Elluminate has been piloted and locally run here at Duke since Fall of 2006. Elluminate will no longer hosted here at Duke, as of September 1st, 2008. For those of you already using Elluminate, you can access the service website at: http://webconference.oit.duke.edu.

stepsSteps to Success using Elluminate.

  • If this is your first meeting using Elluminate, go to Elluminate support and check to make sure your computer is configured properly or download the free java software you'll need to join the meeting. Next, join the configuration room prior to your meeting to do a final check and practice configuring your audio and adjusting levels (login: full name, password: leave it blank).
  • If you'll be a moderator: familiarize yourself with the software. Review the documentation provided below or sign up for live training (also linked below).
  • Choose a recommended headset for best results with voice communications.
