Configuring LDAP for Mulberry
How to configure Mulberry
to access the Duke LDAP server
- Launch Mulberry and log in to your email.
- Go to File > Preferences.
- In not selected, click the radio button for Advanced preferences.
- Click the pop-up menu by Account and select New.
- Type in a name for this new account (for example: Duke LDAP).
- In the pop-up menu by Account Type, select LDAP Address Search and click OK.
- In the server field enter: ldap.duke.edu:389
- Click on the Attributes 1 tab and enter ou=People,dc=duke,dc=edu in the Root field.
- Click OK.
NOTE: Your Mulberry configuration may already contain a reference to a commercial LDAP server called Test LDAP. You may want to remove this server or your search results will contain entries outside the Duke LDAP server.
To remove the test server:
- Go back to File > Preferences.
- Click on the pop-up menu for Account and if it is there, select Test LDAP.
- Once the settings are visible, go to the pop-up menu by Account and select Delete.
- Click OK.
To conduct a search:
- Go to Addresses > Search.
- From the pop-up menu by Find Items, select Using LDAP.
- Enter your search criteria and click Search or press RETURN. The results will be displayed in the lower part of the window. Click the Message button to create a new message with the selected address.
