Secure Email Setup for PC

For new and current users

1. Open Mail and Newsgroups.

2. Select Edit from the menu bar. Select Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings ... 

3. Click the New Account button. The account wizard will open.

4. Select Email Account. Click Next. 

5. In the Your Name field, enter your name. In the Email Address field, enter your Duke email address. Click Next. 

6.  Select IMAP. In the Server Name field, enter imap.duke.edu. Click Next.

 7. In the User Name field, enter your Duke NetID. Click Next.

8. In the Account Name field, enter a descriptive name for your email account. Click Next.

9. Click Finish.

10. In the Mail & Newsgroups Settings window, select Server Settings.

11. Place a check mark in the box labeled Use secure connection (SSL).

12. Click OK. You have successfully set up your Duke email account.
