Netscape 6.x to 7.x Secure Email Setup for Mac 

For all users

1. Open Netscape Messenger.

2. From the menu bar, select Edit > Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings...

3. In the left menu, select Outgoing Server (SMTP).

4. In the Server Name field, enter smtp.duke.edu.

5. Click on Add Account.

6. Select Email account. Click Next.

7. In the Your Name field, enter your name.

8. In the Email Address field, enter your Duke email address. Click Next. 

9. Select IMAP.

10. In the Server Name field, enter imap.duke.edu. Click Next.

11. In the User Name field, enter your Duke NetID.

12. In the Account Name field, enter a descriptive name for your e-mail account.  Click Next.

13. Click Finish.

Configuring Netscape 7 to use SSL 

1. From the left menu, select Server Settings.

2. Check the box labeled Use secure connection (SSL).

3. Click OK.
