Secure Email Setup 

1. Open the Mail Program in OS X.

2. Click on Mail and select Preferences.

3. Click the Accounts icon.

4. Click the + in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.

5. On the General Information page, click the drop-down box beside Account Type to select IMAP.

6. In the Full Name field, type your name. In the Email Address field, type your Duke email address.

7. Click Continue.

8. On the following screen, enter imap.duke.edu for the Incoming Mail Server.

9. In the User name field, type your Duke NetID, and put your NetID password in the Password field.

10. On the following screen, enter smtp.duke.edu for the Outgoing Mail Server.

11. Check the box marked Use Authentication.

12. In the User name field, type your Duke NetID and put your NetID password in the Password field.

13. On the Account Summary page, verify the settings and click Continue.

14. On the Conclusion page, click Done.
