Outlook 2007 SMTP Secure Settings

For Current Users

1. Open Outlook 2007. 

2. From the menu bar, select Tools > E-mail Accounts.

3. Under E-mail, select View or change existing e-mail accounts.

4. Select your email account and click Change. The Internet E-mail Settings windows will open.

5. Click the More Settings button.

6. In the Internet E-mail Settings window, select the Advanced tab.

7. From the Use the following type of encrypted connection menu, select SSL.  The port number should change to 993.

8. If you are off campus, also select SSL for the outgoing server. In the Outgoing server field, change the number to 465. If you are on campus, leave the outgoing server set to None.

9. Click OK. Click Finish.
