What is SWAT?

Students Assisting with Technology (SWAT) is a group of technically trained students dedicated to helping students with selected computer problems.

SWAT Laptop Support

Technology support will be available starting freshmen orientation week in The Marketplace in East Union building on East Campus.  If you are a new student, come by for help with your laptop, wireless or just to ask a question.

Visit SWAT in the East Campus Union August 19-22, 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and August 23-24, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.  After the Back to School SWAT service ends, assistance will be available at the Service Desk in the Link at Perkins Library and at Lilly Library on East Campus throughout the school year.  Drop by for questions or help with your laptop.

SWAT staff will address the following issues:

  • General Use Questions / How To
  • Basic Network Connectivity (NetReg)
  • Software Issues
  • Admin password protection
  • Security issues and patching
  • Virus issues (this issue might be referred to the OIT Service Desk)

* You must stay with your computer while it is getting serviced. Staff will only support laptops (not desktops) at this time.

We are available to make sure the computers and printers are running properly and answer most quick computer questions.
