About OIT Staff Development

The OIT Staff Development Team is a group of OIT employees dedicated to examining and promoting staff development at OIT. The team meets regularly to discuss and plan staff development opportunities.

OIT has a history of being committed to staff development and professional growth, as evidenced by early efforts in position broadbanding, establishing performance goals and routine reviews, and funding relevant professional development. Necessarily, these efforts vary by work unit and individual but one thing that they have in common is that they (generally) have been initiated and driven through a "top down" approach. The goal behind forming this ad hoc working group is to seek input from OIT line staff and supervisors about how OIT might continue and enhance existing efforts to develop its staff, and to increase overall awareness of such efforts.
