Import VPN Certificate
Duke University VPN client users may need to download and manually import the new certificate to connect to the VPN. Please follow these instructions to import the new certificate.
- Download the new certificate to a temporary location, such as your desktop. Right click, or Control click for Macs, here to save the file to your computer.
- Open the Cisco VPN client.
- Above the main window listing the connections, you will see three tabs labeled Connection Entries, Certificates, and Logs. Click on the Certificates tab.
- Click the icon just above these tabs labeled Import. A dialog box will appear with the import path and a button to browse for the new certificate.
- Navigate to the temporary location where you saved the downloaded certificate from Step 1 and select it.
- In the Import Certificate dialog window, click on Import. You should see a confirmation window appear stating that the new certificate was successfully imported.
- Click on OK and close your VPN client.
You can then reopen the VPN client, click on the Connection Entries tab to see the Duke VPN profiles and connect as normal. You will need to follow this process on each computer which is not currently connecting.
If you continue to have any connection problems, please contact the OIT Service Desk at 684-2200.
