VPN Client for Mac OS X 10.4+

Downloading and installing

You will need a NetID to download the client.

1. Download the VPN Client for Macintosh OS X (10.4+, PPC and Intel)
2. Double-click the Cisco VPN Client.mpkg icon to start the install.

3. Click Continue when notified that the package contains a program.

4. On the Welcome to the Cisco VPN Client Installer screen, click Continue.

5. On the Software License Agreement screen, click Continue.

6. On the next screen, click Agree to agree to the terms of the software license agreement.

7. Choose Macintosh HD as the default install directory.

8. Click Upgrade to perform a basic installation.

9. To continue, you will have to authenticate via an administrative account.

10. The client will now install. Once it has completed, click Close.

11. Be sure to ejected the mounted installer volume. Simply drag the icon
  to the Trash.icon


Configuring and Using

1. By default, the program installs in the Applications directory. The client is preconfigured for use and does not require configuration. You can just use one of the existing profiles which are listed below.

duke-broadband – for users connecting via broadband.

duke-dialup – for users connecting via a dial up service.

duke-wireless – for users connecting on the wireless network.

2. Click Connect to start your connection.

3. Log in using your NetID and password.

4. You are now connected to the Duke University VPN Client.
