You may terminate service for any reason within 15 days of activation without incurring an early termination fee. You will be responsible for all applicable fees, prorated access charges, taxes or other charges that accrued to your account through the termination date and equipment return date.
You may return any or all of your wireless equipment for any reason within 15 days of purchase. If you return and we accept your equipment within this period, we will refund your equipment purchase price.
You must return the original box intact with all components (phone, charger, battery, instructions, software, etc.). Equipment is not eligible to be returned if the UPC code for the box is missing and the rebate form has been submitted. At our discretion, we may decline your return for missing items or items that we determine are damaged or require service.
You must return your equipment within 15 days of purchase to receive a full refund. If you cancel service within 15 days of the purchase of your phone, but do not return your phone as required, you will be responsible for payment of the possible $175 early termination fee in addition to all airtime, access and other applicable charges incurred prior to the termination of your service.
Do not return your equipment after 15 days of purchase. If you return your equipment after 15 days of purchase, you are not entitled to receive a refund and your equipment will not be returned to you. If you cancel your service after the 15-day period or prior to the expiration of your contract term, you will be responsible for the Duke University OIT service used and any airtime, access and other applicable charges accrued on your account until the service termination date, including a possible $175 early termination fee.
Duke University OIT will not remove installed equipment from vehicle or fixed location in order to return or exchange it.
If you received your handset through a "Buy One, Get One Free" offer and are returning either of the handsets for credit, both handsets must be returned in order to receive a refund. For exchanges for the same equipment make and model, only the item to be exchanged needs to be included.
Opened software purchased separately may be exchanged only for the same exact item at a Retail Store for the appropriate vendor and may not be returned for refund.
Before returning or exchanging any product that has data stored in its memory, please transfer all files you wish to retain to another file source. Once the product is returned, your files cannot be recovered.
Within 15 days of purchase, you may exchange one wireless phone per new line of service. In order to make the exchange, you must return the original box, intact with all components (phone, charger, battery, instructions, etc.), in like-new condition.
If you experience an electronic malfunction as a result of a manufacturing defect after the return and exchange period but within the first year that you own the phone, Duke University OIT will either exchange your phone for a like unit or one of comparable quality at no cost to you, or assist you in sending the phone to an authorized repair facility. To initiate this type of service, please submit the appropriate request via the Duke University OIT online form.
If you choose to exchange your phone, the phone you receive may be refurbished equipment. Once you have exchanged your phone, we will not be able to undo the exchange and return your original equipment to you. If you have difficulty with the exchanged unit, Duke University OIT will replace it with another piece of refurbished equipment, subject to availability. The exchanged unit will carry the remaining warranty period from the original phone or a total of 90 days, whichever is greater. Beyond the twelfth month of ownership of the phone, Duke University OIT will assess a fee for equipment that is replaced due to electrical malfunction or manufacturer defect.
Phones subjected to neglect, misuse, water damage, wear and tear and the like are not eligible for any return or exchange program. This program does not cover lost or stolen phones. These policies do not limit or supersede any existing manufacturer's warranties.
